I’m writing my first real blog post today. So if you’re seeing this, you are right at the very beginning. It’s Labor Day today, 2015, and I’ve spent most of the weekend setting up our first real website www.sailwanderingtoes.com. It’s not much to look at yet, but as in everything I do, I have big dreams.
The weather hasn’t been very conducive to sailing, but we’re on the boat and I brought the computer with. This task has been on my “To Do list” for a long time. I have been reading and absorbing everything I can find on website domains, web hosting and website design. It took me a few hours to “push the button” and get it all started, but I had the help of a few friends. I was able to get the web hosting purchased and the domain name I wanted. I spent the entire day yesterday trying to get a first homepage setup and was having a terrible time with it. Late in the day, my friend Jim Glass, who’s out in Pennsylvania, helped walk me through the first 40 or so daunting setup steps, and I can’t thank him enough. I would not have been able to figure this out on my own. Now, Look Out World, I’m dangerous! I am sure I will be spending a lot of time figuring out where I’m going and what I’m doing with our website, but I’m having fun and learning. Like I said, this is just the beginning!
As a postscript, Marge and I have always considered Labor Day weekend to be our beginning as a couple. It’s been eleven wonderful years that we have been best friends and partners. Happy Anniversary Sweetheart! This Labor Day, a weekend of beginnings, our new website and blog is born. Cool!
So excited to be following you…. It’s inspiring!
